
Allison Brooks Janney (born November 19, 1959)[2] is an American actor. Over more than three decades, she has become famous for her roles in different genres of screen and on stage. Janney won numerous honors, such as an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. The actress earned seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney has also been nominated for Two Tony Awards. Janney was brought up in Dayton and Boston by her parents, was awarded a scholarship by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to pursue her studies following having graduated from Kenyon College. Janney began her TV debut in 1999 with the character C. J. Cregg in the role of C. J. Cregg on the NBC's political drama The West Wing (2000-2006). She received Four Primetime Emmy Awards for this role. For her portrayal of Margaret Scully, a Showtime actress on"Masters of Sex," a period television drama Masters of Sex, Janney won her 2014 Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Actress as a Guest in a Drama Series. She is most famous for her character Bonnie Plunkett.
